About the team:The CMHT service provides a triage, assessment, short and long term intervention, advice and guidance. The CMHT will focus on supporting people with secondary care mental health needs. The CMHT provide an integrated, multi-disciplinary services providing a broad range of medical, psychological and social treatments and interventions for service users and families with complex mental health needs.We value diversity and want our teams to represent our population in Southwark. With that in mind we welcome applicants who have lived experience as well as those from a BME backgroundAbout the role:We are looking to recruit a Adult Safeguarding Practitoner with identifying and responding to safeguarding concerns to work effectively with partner agencies. You will need experience with working in safeguarding within the community setting. The post holder will proactively and re-actively engage with front line staff and provide evidence based guidance required to help staff practice safety to safeguard children and adults confidently and effectively within a secondary care mental health setting.The aim of this pilot scheme post is to drive quality improvement in promoting safeguarding and protection awareness within the context of a ‘think family’ approach within our Southwark CMHTs.You will be required to develop and maintain links across a wide variety of statutory and non-statutory organisations such as children services, adult safeguarding and solace and along with other voluntary and non-voluntary services. You will also be involved in mental health assessments and reviews as well as attending safeguarding conferences when required.About the location:You will be based at St Giles House, St Giles Rd, Camberwell, London SE5 7UD.Our Trust headquarters is located at Denmark Hill less than 5 minutes from the train station (zone 2).
