Job Description

Lorien Global are recruiting on behalf of their financial services client with a view to recruit an Actuarial Manager on a 12 month fixed-term contract to join their busy finance function. The role can be based from the following office locations: Birmingham,Telford, Hitchin, Preston or Hove. The role is a hybrid role (three days in the office and two days from home) Please note that this vacancy is paying a salary and not a day rate. The purpose of the role is to provide a professional service applying actuarial,technical & business knowledge to support the delivery of informed & effective decision making in order to deliver the company strategy.Key Responsibilities Projects and Systems Maintenance and improvement of existing systems and processes Assisting with deliveryof change through projects to support business or regulatory change. This might include reporting changes (IFRS17, Internal Model) or business changes (acquisition integration) Liaise with other Finance teams on project delivery throughout the cycle of developmentLeading projects or project meetings. Financial Reporting Reviewing valuation model runs using financial modelling software for a range of financial reporting metrics Explaining the results to a senior actuary, ensuring appropriate controls are applied Reviewingmanually calculated reserves where these are done outside of the model Review analyses of results for different metrics and reconciliations between the different reporting bases. Other Provide management oversight or mentoring of staff Peer review of actuarialwork at the appropriate level Technical expertise to understand results and be able to communicate them to others through reports (data validation, experience reports, bonus recommendations) or verbally Working with other teams in Finance or the wider businessas the need arises Provide Senior level support to Actuarial Technicians. Person Specification: Detailed knowledge of actuarial modelling systems Understanding of life insurance products Experience of managing others or coaching/mentoring is an advantage Reportwriting, investigation or business change experience an advantage. FIA qualification an advantage.
