Actuarial Developer RolesFull-timeLondon/WFH during the COVID-19 PandemicBase Salary: £55,000 - £85,000 with a competitive package depending on experienceDate Posted: 6th May 2021Three roles are available for applicants with 5 - 10 years of actuarial experienceHFG is working with an insurer to build a new Automation and Insights Team within the Finance function.This is part of the companys new finance program which is focused around modernising their systems, processes and technology through-out Finance.The line manager will have a team of 3 plus 2 additional heads in IT.You will need to be a hands-on coder and developer to join this team.The roles in this team would fit people who like technology - designing new processes and challenging the use of spreadsheets.The role holders would be setting up model development design, UAT, building/testing, mapping out new processes and developing structure around those new approaches.This is fast-paced pragmatic technology use to enhance the department.As with any new team that brings significant change, you would need communication skills, stakeholder management and appreciation of the end-user needs.Ideally, some of the new team will have experienced a similar modernisation process in another insurer.Theyll be looking at outputs from Oracle, General Ledger, RAFM (for example) and what can be done with the output.Remit also includes new technology/systems and recommending their use to the business.Application Requirements:The team will likely be made up of a more senior applicant (10 years experience), a nearly-newly qualified actuary applicant with circa 5 years experience and another either nearly-newly qualified actuary applicant or slightly more junior.Strong knowledge of at least one programming language (preferably Python or R/R Shiny)You must be eligible to work in the UK - these rules have changed recently so when applying please state your eligibility to work in the UK.
