Job Description

A prestigious UK General Insurer has enlisted our help to bring in an ambitious Actuarial Analyst looking to grow within a varied and dynamic role covering Reserving, Capital and business planning. This is a fantastic opportunity for a growth-oriented andhigh-performing Junior Analyst to step into a rewarding and supportive team, sitting at the Group level with exposure to all business lines.Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the current year loss ratio & reserving processes.
  • Capital Modelling risk assessment for future losses and reserves volatility.
  • Work under the Business Lines Actuarial Manager to estimate current and future years’ loss.
  • Analysis of performance and product profitability of various Business Lines.
  • Support business decisions with up to date research and analysis.
  • Ensure Actuarial Management Information is fit for purpose.
  • Quality control of business lines MI.
  • Assist the Company’s audit methodologies, regulatory requirements, and practices.
Skills & Experience:
  • Progress towards completion of actuarial core principal exams.
  • Experience of GI reserving would be preferred.
  • Knowledge of Excel, Word and ResQ (or similar actuarial tools).
  • Any experience of R/ Python, Visual Basic and/or SAS is a plus.
  • Ability to engage with a range of technical and commercial business issues.
  • Strong modelling understanding and statistical mindset.
  • Knowledge of UK insurance regulations and experience working within a regulatory framework.
