Full Time, Fixed Term for 12 months (Maternity Cover)Location: Boston Spa £45,000 or St Pancras £48,750The British Library is home to a world of discovery for researchers, writers, thinkers, artists, creatives and scientists alike. Their support enables us to share our collectionas widely as possible by developing learning programmes for young people, supporting growing businesses, inspiring diverse communities, broadening our exhibitions and events and improving our physical spaces.The Library is in the quiet phase of an ambitiousmultimillion pound fundraising campaign. The Acting Head of Major Donors and Individual Giving is a key senior role in the Librarys development team, leading a team of 4 to drive forward major gifts and individual supporter activity internationally and nationallyto secure significant donations towards the campaign. You will be a highly-experienced and results-oriented individual with strong leadership and line management skills. A confident relationship builder, with a proven track record of securing major gifts (6and 7 figures) you will be responsible for driving the strategy for the individual giving team as well as of managing effective and creative stewardship and cultivation plans for a portfolio of high net worth individuals, tailored to meet their individualneeds. You will have well established contacts and networks and be able to build new relationships with high-net worth individuals. You will also be able to prepare and articulate compelling cases for support for the Librarys key projects and campaign visionand thrive in a creative and fast paced environment. A collaborative, determined, open and honest approach to align with the Librarys values and purposes will also be vital.In return we offer a competitive salary and a number of excellent benefits.
