Job Description

Accounts Payable Officer Offering between £29k-£32k per annum Permanent Battersea, SW London Hybrid working Roles and Responsibilities

  • Managing supplier accounts - setting up suppliers, anti-fraud checks, IR35 risk management and ensuring everything is paid on a timely basis.
  • Ensuring all relevant documentation related to payment of invoices is accurate and attached, such as bank details and company addresses.
  • Matching and processing invoices, registering them within two days from date received.
  • Ensuring the correct coding of invoices.
  • Resolving Invoice queries in a timely manner.
  • Being the key point of contact for all creditors and responding in a timely and friendly manner regarding outstanding invoices and expenses.
  • Processing and tracking business rates, council tax and utilities.
  • Liaising with suppliers and staff, including weekly site visits.
  • Being proactive, service-oriented and helpful to people on-sites, keeping them updated on payments that have and have not gone out and any payment issues or delays.
  • Picking up the phone to resolve issues swiftly and being concise in communication.
  • Processing weekly payment runs to agreed timetable, without delays.
  • Processing ad-hoc bank transfers.
  • Ad-hoc banking of cash and cheques as required.
  • Reconciling supplier statements.
  • Supporting the Financial Controller and Head of Finance as required, including providing updates on site issues.
  • Supplying daily bank reviews.
  • Providing weekly distribution lists, chasing people to ensure invoices have been paid.
  • Managing the accounts email mailbox and post daily - receiving invoices and queries and responding to those swiftly, distributing them to the relevant sites.
  • Verifying subcontractors CIS status and preparing CIS returns, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of with CIS, DRC and VAT rules.
Requirements
  • High attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • IT literacy (excel, outlook etc.)
  • Some AP experience
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Experience with new systems and/or system implementation
  • Interest in construction/property
