Job Description

Ambition is delighted to be working with a Top 20 Firm in Central London who are looking to add an expereinced Outsourcing & Accounts manager to the Business Services Team. The team is one of the largest at the firm, providing business support to a rangeof businesses and charities. The team provides a full complement outsourced services including management accounting, VAT, HR consulting, VAT, payroll and regulatory reporting.Whats on offer

Your role:
  • Carry out all accounting work for a wide range of profit making organisations in compliance with the firms and statutory procedures. This includes planning, executing, completing and producing client ready work indepeny and with minimum superivsion.
  • Preperation of management accounts and statutory financial reports, including consolidated accounts from both manual and computerised accounting records
  • Manage a portfolio of c.30 FCA regulated clients and ensure that all client deadlines to external parties (FCA, HMRC etc) are constantly monitored and met
  • Preperation and review of VAT returns
  • Assist in managing a team of 9 people, with duties to include delegation, supervising and reviewing the work of junior memebers of the team by providing constructive feedback and support
  • Providing general accounting services and assistance to clients in the preparation of accounts and VAT returns, for example preparing working papers for management or statutory accounts.
  • Recommend improvements to clients accounting systems and controls and assist clients whenever needed.
  • Keep Partners (where necessary) informed of the progress on the teams jobs.
  • Understand the specification of the assignment agreed with the client and report immediately to the Partner if and when this specification may need to be changed.
  • Be able to take ownership of an assignment and see it through to completion with the willingness to solve issues as and when they arise.
  • Provide considered costings for client work, as well as ensure costs are kept within budget wherever possible and report to the Partner as soon as agreed time/budget appears to be compromised.
  • Ensure all billing is undertaken in a timely manner.
  • Provide technical guidance to team members and enable their development.
What you need:
  • ACCA/ACA Qualified
  • Experience of working with LLP clients
  • Experience of preparing statutory and management accounts and VAT returns.
  • Knowledge of UK GAAP, specifically an understanding of FRS102.
  • Experience of working with FCA regulated businesses and the associated FCA regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Client management experience.
  • Experience of managing and developing others.
  • Accounting software knowledge and experience - Caseware, Sage, Quickbooks or Xero (desirable).
