Job Description

As a luxury fashion company with a strong ethical standpoint we are leaders and innovators in our industry.Overview: Reporting to the Senior Accounting Manager,the Accounts Assistant will be part of the Finance community and managing the general ledger of Stella McCartney Ltd. The role will have a great opportunity to work closely with the retail receivable, accounts payable and controlling teams. This is a 10 monthfixed term contract starting in Jan/Feb 2024. Mission:

  • Responsible for bookkeeping and posting accounting journals (eg. prepayments, accrual, payroll)
  • Responsible for month end closing process including reconciliations for balance sheet accounts, intercompany balances and bank accounts, group reporting schedules as such accrual and prepayment list, FX analysis report
  • Managing business rates billing for all properties (ie. office, storage, retail stores)
  • Prepare and submit quarterly turnover confirmation and annual turnover statement for retail stores
  • Coordination of licensor turnover report
  • Assist in quarterly VAT returns preparation and submission
  • Assist in annual audit
  • Support corporation tax analysis
  • Back up as level 1 expense approver in Workday
Your Talent:
  • Faster learner and able to work under pressure, tight deadline and in fast pace environment
  • Strong ability to process large data set and summarise findings
  • Good understanding of UK VAT rules
  • Qualified or part-qualified accountant
  • Experience with fashion retail
  • Well organised
Systems and Essentials:
  • Hands on and efficient with Excel (eg. pivot tables, vlookup)and general IT skills.
  • Knowledge of SAP is plus.
