Job Description

Merchandising ManagerLocation: London Length: 7 Months Rate: £31.92 - £38.79 per hourHours:9am6pmGoogle Play is at the heart of the Android ecosystem, providing the apps, games, and digital content services that bring Android devices to life. The Play store serves over a billion users in 150+ markets, and is a critical driver of Googles overall revenuegrowth. The Global Merchandising Team owns content programming within the Play Store across all regions and verticals. As the Apps Programs Merchandising Manager you will impact millions of users every day by working closely with cross-functional teams and strategic partners to deliver value to the Apps ecosystem. You will lead merchandising efforts to support strategic partnerprograms. You will closely partner with multiple external stakeholders and internal cross-functional teams in developing this global program, creating playbooks for how we run activations for the Merchandising channel, and advising on other related channels.You will work closely with Apps Merchandising category leads to develop the appropriate offers and activations. You will also partner with the Apps BD team to further partner tiering and service packs for important developers. You possess strong app knowledge, including subscription offers, sharp analytical thinking, and exemplary written and verbal communication skills. You are comfortable working cross-functionally to develop innovative programs which provide successful outcomesfor developers and stakeholders, whilst maintaining the highest levels of user experience. You can balance conflicting priorities and influence for positive outcomes. You are able to work both independently and collaboratively; bringing leadership and strategicthinking to the role. You have a track record of successful collaboration with senior stakeholders and ability to influence strategic thinking. Your organisational and prioritisation skills are highly developed, and you enthusiastically address challenges.Responsibilities:

  • Lead merchandising efforts to support strategic partner programs
  • Develop and lead the overall Merchandising approach/playbook for the newly formed Apps Velocity Program globally, developing the program strategy along with robust processes and best practices
  • Work with external partners and internal XFN teams to lead the creation and delivery partner activations across a robust annual calendar
  • Coordinate with Apps category and regional teams to successfully land partner of programs
  • Update and communicate with senior stakeholders internally & externally
Minimum Qualifications:
  • BS/BA or equivalent work experience
  • 5 years of experience in a merchandising, marketing or business development role for an online commerce or digital content business
  • Deep knowledge of the apps ecosystem, categories and business models
  • Fluency in English
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong leadership; able to lead cross-functional teams and influence senior stakeholders
  • High levels of strategic thinking and ability to drive operational process and discipline
  • Highly tuned communication skills and collaborative working approach with ability to adapt to all levels
  • 3+ years of experience working in function or company focused on mobile, ecommerce or gaming
  • Strong analytical skills; ability to analyze research or performance data and apply that analysis to optimise merchandising strategy
  • Experience working with external partners and cross-functional partners to develop co-promotion or cross-promotion strategies and campaigns
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast growing space to achieve success for partners
