Pay: Kent Range3 Start Date: Immediate We are looking for a 1:1 TeachingAssistant who can support a Year 5 pupil with dyslexia who is working wellbelow age related expectations; to help them excel in all areas of school life.The post is for 18 hours per week, working every morning and one or twoafternoons per week, during term time. This contract is temporary and supportedby High Needs funding which is reviewed annually. As with other roles in the school,this post involves regular contact with children and staff and therefore thesuccessful candidate needs to be able to relate well to children and adultsalike. A sense of humour is a MUST, as well as a common-sense approach to thejob and the ability to show initiative and adapt to any situation that mayarise. Ideally, in applying for this post and to join an Outstanding team youwill have: Experience in teaching childrenphonics, reading and early mathematics concepts is essentialGood literacy and mathematicalskillsPrevious experience of workingwith children with emotional needsPrevious experience of precisionteachingPrevious experience of workingwith children; awareness/experience of pre and post teachingSome experience of providinginterventions to develop speech and language skills and knowledge in Languagethrough Colour would be beneficialHigh standards of work ethic andself-motivationExcellent interpersonal andorganisational skillsThe ability to form positiverelationships with children and adultsHigh standards of personalpresentation, punctuality, professional standards and team workAny previous training in fizzy,sensory circuits, cued articulation; creating social stories would beadvantageousConfidence to attend andcontribute in review meetings with parents and outside agenciesSkills to be able to createresources and develop strategies to support the childDevelop a multi-sensory approachto learningYou will be expected toundertake all necessary training related to this role; as and when requested bythe Headteacher.
