Job Description

Student Support OfficerSwansea - £16 an hour + holiday entitlement on top!Brook Street Social Care have been supplying the highest quality care and support staff to hundreds of care organisations across South Wales for over 25 years and are RECRUITING NOW in Swansea.Help someone live their life to the fullest with Brook Street Social Care.We are currently looking for two Student Support Officers to work in a temporary full-time contract in a college in Swansea. One will run until the end of December 2023 and the other post will run until the end of Feb 2024.Your role will be to ensure that identified at risk students with particular emphasis on specified areas are retained on their course and achieve their potential; to lead on mental health in young people and to advise colleagues on best avenues of support forthe young people they are supporting; and to contribute to the development of tutorial skills and support mechanisms for at risk students and the identification of external links to support services.You will ideally have counselling experience and experience working with young people.To be considered to work in this role, you will need:

  • Mental Health Practitioner Degree or Level 4 equivalent qualification.
  • Counselling experience.
  • Experience working with young people.
  • Patient, kind and have effective communication skills.
  • Works well with others.
You will receive from Brook Street Social Care:
