Job Description

Reporting directly to the Head Groundsman, the candidate will be responsible for the day to day delivery of grounds maintenance and processes that support all operational aspects of the business, showing teamwork, initiative and proactiveness to ensure the delivery of the required high standards of grounds maintenance at Parc y Scarlets stadium, training facility and surrounding landscape.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Under the guidance and direction of the Head Groundsman, assist in ensuring the main playing surface and training facilities are maintained and prepared to the highest standard befitting of a stadium environment.
  • Set and maintain high standards of work and deliver quality consistently.
  • To provide and maintain excellent housekeeping across all work areas ensuring they are kept safe, clean, tidy and secure at all times.
  • To provide effective communication, initiative and problem solving skills to organise and prioritise workload to meet deadlines, ensuring any issues are reported or resolved successfully.
  • Deputise for the Head Groundsman under the guidance of the Stadium Manager as and when required.
  • Ensure the safe disposal of waste / chemicals in a controlled manner in line with COSHH procedures.
  • Provide a flexible approach to working hours, with excellent time management and team player characteristics remaining highly self-motivated, honest and reliable at all times with a willingness to self-evaluate and work towards continuous professional development.
  • Have the ability to work independently and carry out objectives without close supervision providing a keen eye for detail and methodical approach in a proactive manner.
  • Maintain a good level of physical fitness to undertake labour-intensive tasks and manual handling operations.
  • Carry out any duties requested of you within your capabilities.
    • REQUIREMENTS
  • Health And Safety Qualification is desirable i.e. Working Safely, IOSH.
  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Sportsturf preferred.
  • PA 1, 2 and 6 is desirable.
  • Previous experience of using a wide range of turf care equipment.

  • Hours: 35 hours per week
  • Salary: Competitive, depending on experience
