Job Description

H&J Martin Ltd (part of the Lagan Specialist Contracting Group) is now recruiting for a Site Manager.Our BusinessH&J Martin Limited are a Fit Out and Asset Management company operating throughout the UK and Ireland. As part of the Lagan Specialist Contracting Group our mission is to provide Construction, Fit Out and Asset Management solutions in an environment wherepeople feel safe, secure and valued. The Site Manager will be responsible for the onsite management of the Fit-Out Projects in the UK & Ireland to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of the Projects and lead the teams within H&J Martin values and guidelines,while adding value and development to the Fit-Out business.What Youll DoThe following reflect the main tasks associated with the position and are not intended to be exclusive or exhaustive:

  • Manage projects from Mobilisation through to handover of fit-out projects up to £3m in value
  • Ability to plan and programme works on a weekly basis so key milestones are achieved on the master programme. Update and adjust programme as required.
  • Manage sub-contractors effectively so they meet their programme of works
  • Carry out daily quality control inspections for each discipline of work and deal with poor quality.
  • Carry out daily and weekly audits using the mobile platform to show progress
  • Conduct weekly progress meetings with sub-contractors
  • Report to project/contracts manager on progress
  • Liaise with client representatives
  • Liaise with shopping centre management as appropriate
  • Upkeep drawing register and site files to ensure latest design information is being used.
  • Maintain and update the CPP as work progress
  • Receive and approve subcontractor RAMS
  • Undertake site inductions
  • Ensure daily signing in/out records are up to date
  • Manage and direct labour only subcontractors
  • Snag works and prepare a defects report for each discipline of work and ensure corrective measure are carried out
  • Requisition plant and materials as required through the company purchase order processing procedure
  • Be responsible for receiving plant and materials on site and for conforming goods received on the CAFM system
  • Be responsible for returning all hired plant that was received.
  • Handover the site snag free and on programme
  • De-mobilise and recycle site set up equipment for re-use.
What youll bringAs a Site Manager your main skills and experience will include:Essential Criteria
  • Experience as a Site Manager within a Fit-Out environment
  • Proven Track record of leading fast paced Fit-Out Projects
  • Proven Health & Safety experience on Fitout projects
  • Experience of leading, managing and motivating project teams in demanding environments
  • Proficient in programming software
  • Extensive experience in Retail & Commercial Fit-Out projects in the UK & Ireland
  • A good understanding of elements necessary to deliver effective supply chain management and support across the organisation
  • Excellent interpersonal skills are required to manage a team and for relationships with Clients
  • The ability to motivate, lead and engage diverse teams with due consideration to employee development, succession and performance management.
  • Flexibility is essential as this role will involve work and travel throughout the UK & Ireland.
  • Good management skills, with the ability to motivate employees to achieve high standards of compliance
  • A strong communicator, comfortable interfacing with senior executives and external clients
  • IT literacy
  • Experience in delivery an onsite project subject to C-19 restrictions/rules
