Job Description

Our client are a leading manufacturer of precision parts for the aerospace and power generation industries. They are looking to recruit a Production Planner to their team on a permanent basis. This would be a great fit for a meticulous individual who enjoysvariety in their day to day.Production PlannerPermanent positionAerospace & power generation industriesMonday – Friday10% matched pensionRESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION The jobholder will be responsible for the production planning and expediting of key customer products.

  • Manage customer demand via customer portal including downloading demand and responding with delivery date updates.
  • Communicate with customers providing delivery updates.
  • Maximise customer on time delivery
  • Work in conjunction with Raw material team to monitor and highlight risks to customer deliveries, and monitor on time launches.
  • Work in conjunction with Operations team to track and expedite wip to support on time customer deliveries.
  • Work with remote locations and sub-contractors as applicable to maximise customer on time delivery.
  • Understand product test requirements, working with Metallurgy to ensure testing is completed on time.
  • Including batch and heat related cut ups
  • Support achievement of sales targets, ensuring information is maintained and clearly communicated.
  • Measure customer OTD, with reasons.
  • Participate and support On time delivery improvement; Ideas and initiatives.
  • Support the other department responsibilities.
  • Including cross training
  • Provide support to New Product Introduction process and work to identify solutions to on time delivery.
  • Support process control documentation associated with Production planning.
  • Carry out any other duties as directed by the Senior Management Team.
Key Skills/ Qualities/ Experience:Experience in a manufacturing environment essential.Ideally experience in some or all of these areas:
  • Production planning
  • Expediting
  • Purchasing
  • Customer interaction and communication
  • Import / Export
Also seeking:
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Self Starter. Must be able to achieve responsibilities with minimal day to day direction.
  • Interpersonal Skills.
  • Must be able to motivate and drive operations and sub contract suppliers.
  • Must be able to communicate appropriate information to customers.
