Job Description

Health and Safety Advisor LivingstonInside IR353 Months Our Public Sector client is looking for an experienced Health and Safety Advisor. The post holder forms part of the Health and Safety Team, with responsibility for advising Service Groups on health and safety matters and in ensuring Services meet their corporateand statutory health and safety responsibilities.

  • Recognised Health and Safety Qualification - NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or other at equivalent level.
  • At least 2 years post NEBOSH certificate experience in a specific health and safety role
  • Computer Literate - Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
  • Excellent report writing, oral and written communication skills.
  • Confidentiality
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Broad-based health and safety experience
  • Able to demonstrate a practical application of health and safety knowledge.
  • Self-motivated
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and make autonomous decisions in real time.
  • Evidence a good level of knowledge of the range of occupational health and safety hazards, and risk factors relevant to multi-discipline and multi-sector organisations
  • The post holder forms part of the Health and Safety Team, with responsibility for advising Service Groups on health and safety matters and in ensuring Services meet their corporate and statutory health and safety responsibilities
Desirable Skills.
  • Local Authority experience
  • Chartered Membership of IOSH (or equivalent)
  • Training and skills/experience
  • Construction Safety Experience
  • Experience with specialist applications such as online safety management software, accident databases, eLearning tools, video development, Power BI, intranet or web design, other e-tools
