Job Description

Graduate Financial AccountPermanent positionMondayFriday LivingstonImmediate startAre you a Finance Graduate looking to start their career with a global manufacturing organsiationWe are recruiting for a reputable, global manufacturing business that specialise in components for some of the biggest aerospace manufacturers in the world. They are looking for a Financial Accountant to join their already successful team.Overall Responsibilities of the Position

  • To provide finance support for the Financial Controller and wider management team.
  • To assist with the identification, development and implementation of process improvements
  • To ensure that all work meets customer (internal and external) expectations on delivery and quality.
Key Area Responsibilities
  • Decide appropriate handling of financial transactions.
  • Preparation of weekly profit and loss account for the UK with explanation of variances.
  • Compilation and maintenance of weekly US Reporting File.
  • Preparation and reconciliation of bank accounts.
  • Intercompany transactions, reconciliations and payments.
  • Ensuring that pension and payroll taxes are remitted to the appropriate authority within statutory deadlines.
  • Maintenance of fixed asset register, processing monthly depreciation charge and Managing Capital Projects.
  • Prepayments and Accruals
  • Journal Vouchers preparation and understanding in line with Corporate Requirements
  • Ensuring accounts in balance sheet are reconciled and correctly stated.
  • Assist collation of monthly and quarterly reporting packs.
  • Collation of information for budgets and forecasts as appropriate.
  • Responsible for any finance and operating leases.
  • Other analyses or projects as required.
  • Detailed understanding of role and how it impacts on SOX (Sarbanes Oxley) requirements
  • Identify and implement improvements within the role.
Experience/Qualifications
  • Experience of working within a similar Manufacturing role preferable.
  • Part qualified and working towards/willing to work towards full qualifications.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, practices and procedures.
  • Ability to perform detailed numerical computations.
  • Previous experience of preparing detailed reports on a timely basis.
  • Strong Excel and Systems capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to be proactive and a Self Starter.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Understanding/Experience of SOX (Sarbanes Oxley) preferable.
Working Hours & BenefitsMondayThursday 8:00 -16:15Friday 8:00 -15:00
