Job Description

Would you enjoy a data role on a migration project that would give you the chance to gain skills on cloud projects Are you a Support Engineer with experience on datawarehouse and ETL projects Would you enjoy role in growing team working in a large and complex environment Then you may want to find out more about this role.Be-ITis working with one of Scotland’s biggest and fastest moving technology organisations to source a Data Support Engineer with ETL skills supporting applications.Role DescriptionYou will help support technical solutions to a large, fast moving and complex business. Your role will be to handle the on-going support of business applications and processes.

  • Incident management and resolution, including root cause analysis and triage of issues
  • 24x7 On-call support across multiple systems and technologies
  • Engage with 3rd parties to ensure speedy resolution of issues, and plan future releases
  • Impact analysis of change requests, both for projects and small changes
  • Proactive service improvement
  • Creation and maintenance of technical documentation
  • Participation in Change Management processes
    • Your Skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills that can be used to explain technical concepts
  • In depth understanding of large scale data, such as data warehouses and their best practice and principles of manging them
  • Industry standard ETL tool (such as Ab Initio/Informatica)
  • Experience of Unix scripting
  • Excellent SQL skills
  • Big Data/Cloudera
