In joining our client you can expect individual career planning and development, exciting challenges and a lot of room for creativity; this makes our clients working environment special and allows them to provide excellent solutions for people, technology and the environment in over 70 countries throughout the world.Your role as Business Development Manager focuses on selling two offerings firstly, bespoke optoelectronic R&D services for a range of industries and customers and secondly, optoelectronics assembly/ packaging processes. Reporting to the Head of Sales, you will work as part of a small team including 2 account managers, a technical sales person and collaborate with product design and engineering teams.Your tasks will include but not be limited to:Contribute towards customer acquisition, revenue and EBIT growth objectives Identify sales leads, analyse application requirements, and pitch suitable products and services to new customers, maintaining a good working relationship with all (new) contacts Partner with customers to understand their business needs and objectives Review RFQs, align with technical capability and business objectives Effectively communicate the company’s value proposition through proposals and presentations Build and maintain long-lasting customer relationships Own and hit/exceed annual sales targets within assigned sectors and accounts, identify key growth areas by type, and implement strategies to accelerate market penetration Provide annual, quarterly, and monthly sales forecasts Work with Product Engineering Lead to develop new product definitions and specifications Understand and communicate market and technology trends within the team Contribute to identifying suitable sources of funding, including Innovate UK, EU, ESA or other and prepare proposals for fundingTo be considered you will be able to demonstrate:BA/BSc degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent preferred Previous sales or business development experience in a high-tech field, experience of selling high value semiconductor optoelectronics/photonics assembly and test services; experience of selling niche photonic products advantageous Proven proficient working knowledge of optoelectronics assembly/ packaging processes Knowledge of narrow linewidth diode lasers and quantum applications beneficial Good communication, presentation and influencing skills across different hierarchy levels Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close, to articulate the distinct aspects of products/services and to position services against competitors Willingness to travel regularly (to customers throughout UK and Europe); candidates based remotely will also be consideredBenefits:-Annual Bonus based on combination pf personal and company performance-Flexible working hours scheme and comprehensive holidays package help you to better balance your work and personal life.-Personal and professional advancement with a wide range of internal seminars and management development programs.-Pension scheme up to 6% matched employer contribution.
