AssessorsType:Full and Part Time Permanent Roles availableLocation:This role is home based with extensive travelSalary:£33,120 - £37,936 plus £2,500 pro-rated market supplementClosing Date:Midday, Wednesday 16th NovemberFull DescriptionAbout ILF ScotlandILF Scotland is a Non-Departmental Scottish Public Body (NDPB) constituted as a company limited by guarantee. It was created following the closure of the UK ILF in June 2015 and has been administering Scottish ILF funding for existing fund recipients inScotland and Northern Ireland since 1st July 2015.ILF Scotland distributes annual funding of approximately £60m to support individual recipients to lead independent lives. The organisation consists of a staff team of around 66, who provide award management services for approximately 5,000 current fund recipientssplit between the 2015 Fund and Transition Fund.The organisation is fully funded by and accountable to, Scottish and Northern Ireland Government Ministers via a Board of Directors. Directors are appointed by Scottish Ministers in-line with the Scottish Public Appointments process.As a values based organisation, ILF Scotland takes a values led approach to legislative compliance where people and relationship building are a key focus.The Opportunity Our recipients are at the front and centre of everything we do and we are always looking to do better, recognising how we engage and enabling our recipients, their supporters and other key stakeholders to feel informed, engaged, involvedand valued.These are key roles within Independent Living Fund Scotland promoting the principles of the ILF Scotland and achieve excellent outcomes for ILF Scotland recipients and their carers in ensuring choice, independence and social inclusion.Predominantly these roles will be to plan, organise and undertake ILF award assessments/reviews based on an outcome focused assessment of need/risk and using a strengths based approach is fundamental.These roles are an exciting and rewarding opportunity to working in partnership with ILF Scotland recipients and their families/carers, social work services and 3rd sector partners to resolve complex situations surrounding support arrangements and financialmatters relating to the ILF Scotland award.Who we are looking forAt all times we aim to provide excellent and flexible customer service, with"99% of our fund recipients say that their funding from ILF Scotland improves their quality of life."The role of ILF Scotlands Assessors is, in essence, to work with our recipients, and our statutory partners, to maximise the impact of the fund for each individual, at all times maintaining a focus on independent living.You will hold an appropriate professional qualification (Social Work, Occupational Therapy) and have significant and demonstrable post qualification experience in care management. You will also be an excellent communicator at all levels, with an abilityto have sometimes difficult conversations in a sensitive and empathetic manner, with proven ability to build good working relationships in order to collaborate effectively, recognising and supporting the diversity of all those involved. You will have detailedand up to date knowledge of current social care legislation, policy and procedures, social care assessment process, self-directed support framework and outcome focused support planning and finally the ability and willingness to travel, a valid UK Driving licensebeing desirable.To enhance your life balance ILF Scotland offers full flexibility within a genuinely supportive culture.
