Job Description

Warehouse Operative | Speke, Liverpool | Full Time | £11.50 per hourOur client provides freight forwarding services from the UK to both Southern Ireland and Northern Ireland. They have over 30 years of experience in this sector. Their transit warehouses are equipped with advanced security and all their subcontracted hauliershave tracking systems.The company prides itself on providing tailored services for their customers and all of their goods are carried under the RHA conditions of carriage.In this role, you will work closely with the Warehouse supervisor and the Operations team and form a key part of the warehousing function.Hours of workThis is a job and finish role. You will start at 11am to finish, normally around 8pm on Monday to Friday and you must be able to work later depending on operational requirements.Overtime will be paid at time and a half if you are working past 8pm.Are you the right person for the jobEducation/Qualifications:

  • Minimum GSCE Maths and English
  • A valid FLT licence
Work experience:
  • Experience in a warehouse environment is essential
  • Working within a freight or customs office is desirable
  • Experience working in a busy office environment is desirable
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • The ability to check accurately deliveries into the warehouse, ensuring all paperwork is correct
  • Working in the warehouse is very hands-on, so being physically fit and able to lift and load heavy items is a necessary and essential part of the role
  • Well-developed and good interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with people at all levels within our business
  • Able to work well in a team
What will your role look like
  • Checking relevant paperwork for incoming and outgoing goods
  • Manually sorting, handling and placing goods on the trailer
  • Loading trailers in accordance with supervisor instructions
  • Keeping the warehouse clean and tidy
  • Taking deliveries into the warehouse, checking and accurately completing all relevant paperwork
  • Sorting, stacking and packing goods as appropriate
  • Following workplace health and safety rules when handling goods
  • Reporting any damaged or missing goods to the supervisor
