I am delighted to be exclusively partnering with a local container and haulage company based in Liverpool on their search for a Transport Planner to add to their growing transport office.The Transport Planner will be responsible for national planning including to and from Liverpool and Southampton docks. The ideal candidate will also have wider transport experience and confident assisting with different areas within the transport office.Key responsibilities will include:* Route planning of 50+ vehicles across the UK* Being the POC for drivers* Updating the transport diary and daily operations* Performing and transport admin tasks needed* Ensure vehicle compliance and services* Arrange vehicles servicing and account for vehicles off road when planning* Provide daily reports to senior management* Deal with any customer queries or complaints* Manage any agency or driver issues and escalate to the Transport Manager if neededKey skills required for the role:* Previous national transport planning experience* Previous experience in a transport/logistics organisation* Knowledge of driver hours regulations and health & safety requirements* Excellent communications skills, and the ability to work well under pressure* Ability to take a creative approach to problem-solving and react quickly to customer requirements* Exposure to a variety of transport planning systems* High attention to detail* Pro-active and forward thinking approachThis is a permanent role with the core hours being 8am - 6pm (flexibility is required).
