Job Description

Transport PlannerLiverpool£25,000 - £30,000 (Depending on experience) Monday – Friday, 08:00 – 18:00 / 06:00 – 16:00I’m currently recruiting for an experienced Transport Planner to join a family run business who specialise within general haulage and curtain side loads for the UK.They are seeking a Transport Planner to support the current transport operation in the management of route planning, customer service and backhaul planning.The Candidate;

  • General Haulage, containers and curtain sider logistics experience (desirable)
  • Excellent manual transport planning skills and experience
  • Experienced in route planning for circa 50 x Tractor Units
  • Previous experience within a transport planning position
  • Experience using TOPS Transport Management System (desirable)
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
  • Competent decision making
  • Good geographical knowledge of the North West and UK
  • CPC (National) qualified (desirable)
    • Duties and Responsibilities;
  • Route planning for curtain sider loads and containers for UK wide distribution
  • Monitoring driver performance
  • Review driver routes and plan to maximise efficiency
  • Keep all customers informed of all failed services or significant delays
  • Provide the communication link between customers and drivers
  • Supervising and managing driver workloads
  • Ensuring your routes are numbered correctly and all jobs are sequenced
  • Managing your driver’s daily activities in line with the Working Time Directive and Driving hours.
  • Ensuring every customer receives excellent customer service.
  • Investigating failed services and looking into ways to resolve site issues.
