Job Description

An exciting opportunity has a risen for a Teaching Assistant for a small, 14-19 secondary school in Liverpool. This GOOD Ofsted rated school is based in Liverpool city centre so is easily accessible by public transport.The school are looking to recruit a Teaching Assistant or graduate with experience of working with the 14-19 age range. Your role would be to support a Key Stage 4 pupil on a 1:1 basis to assist their learning experience throughout the school day.The role is to start asap until July 2024 with a working day of 9am - 4pm. The rate of pay will range from £85 - £90 a day depending on experience.You will need:-

  • To work collaboratively with the SENDCo and other members of staff;
  • be responsible for making learning as accessible as possible for the Key Stage 4 student whilst being empathetic and patience, ensuring they are as engaged as much as possible.
  • To provide support, guidance, mentoring and training to ensure the individual achieves their full potential
  • To develop the students emotional intelligence, relationship skills and resilience to prepare them for their next steps.
  • To support the student to develop effective organisational and learning skills
  • To liaise with parents to ensure alignment of home/school expectations
  • To support learning across a range of subjects especially English and Maths
The successful applicant will need:-
  • To have experience of working with young people OR be a graduate working towards a PGCE OR hold a Teaching Assistant qualification.
  • Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
  • CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible.
