Job Description

Our client, a global pharmaceutical company based in Speke, Liverpool is looking for a Support Scientist to join their company for 12 months. The role is paying up to £20.20 per hourThe role holder will run MS&T pilot plant processes and support the day to day running of the Pilot Plant and associated laboratories to enable the generation of data for technical studies and to support manufacturing activities to enable the team to progressprojects and meet departmental objectives and company objectives.Performance will be measured through individual objectives and the individuals contribution to the teams objectives.The role holder, in conjunction with the Team Manager, plans their own time and work schedule, and helps prioritise their own work and that of the team, ensuring that deadlines are met.The role holder must have well developed interpersonal and communication skills to achieve success in their role. Flexibility and the ability to work to deadlines are also essential.A positive and pro-active approach is needed to aid resolution of issues.The role holder plans their own day according to departmental priorities. The job holder may sometimes be involved in other project activities, new equipment commissioning, validation work or documentation reviews.Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  1. Perform Pilot Plant runs and support technical protocol execution.
  2. Operate and perform in a broad range of varied work activities to support the day to day running of the Pilot Plant and associated laboratories.
  3. Ensure the Pilot Plant facility is fully equipped, resourced and equipment maintained to be operationally ready as required by project timelines and departmental objectives.
  4. Will ensure appropriate standards of GMP, housekeeping, record keeping, and safety are applied within his/her area and work.
  5. Will maintain facility documentation in compliance with site standards.
  6. Communicate and discuss problems with the other members of the team critical to their operations. There is a requirement for internal communication, both written and oral.
  7. Liaise with members of other departments in a professional manner, including Engineering, Purchasing and Warehouse.
  8. Attend all training courses required for the role. Endeavours to ensure that all training is completed in a timely manner and that their training records are up to date.
Education
  • The role holder to be educated to a minimum of A level standard or equivalent, preferably degree level or equivalent.
Experience
  • Experience working in a pharmaceutical or similar regulated environment at operator level (at least one year preferably).
  • Experience and/or knowledge of influenza antigen production, separation by ultracentrifugation and/or tangential flow filtration would be an advantage
