Job Description

Opus are working exclusively with a technology-driven solutions provider that supports over 6,000 businesses globally, with over 10 million users. Their platform leverages automation and advanced data analytics to streamline processes and improve efficiency.They are seeking a skilled SQL Developer with expertise in the modern Microsoft stack and Snowflake to join their talented team in Liverpool. Role: As a SQL Developer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and optimising their SQL databases. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient data management and contribute to the continuous improvement of their data infrastructure.The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in the modern Microsoft stack, including SQL Server, and possess hands-on experience with Snowflake cloud data platform.Your typical day to day, will look like:

  • Design and develop scalable and high-performance SQL databases using the modern Microsoft stack.
  • Implement data models and database schema designs for optimal performance and maintainability.
  • Optimise SQL queries for maximum efficiency and performance, ensuring timely access to data for end-users and applications.
  • Analyse and improve existing SQL code to enhance overall system performance.
  • Work on data integration projects, ensuring seamless data flow between different systems and applications.
  • Collaborate with ETL developers to implement efficient data pipelines.
  • Utilise expertise in Snowflake to design, implement, and maintain cloud-based data solutions.
  • Collaborate with the data engineering team to ensure seamless integration with Snowflake.
  • Monitor database performance and proactively identify and address performance bottlenecks.
  • Implement performance tuning strategies to optimise database response times.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including software developers, data engineers, and business analysts, to understand data requirements and deliver effective solutions.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for database structures, processes, and procedures.
You’ll have the following skills and experience in your armoury:
  • Proven experience as a SQL Developer with a focus on the modern Microsoft stack.
  • Hands-on experience with Snowflake cloud data platform.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL query optimisation and performance tuning.
  • Experience in database design, development, and implementation.
  • Familiarity with ETL processes and tools.
  • Knowledge of other cloud platforms, such as Azure or AWS.
  • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and best practices.
