Liverpool Clinical Laboratories (LCL) is the largest provider of pathology services in the Northwest.Our vision is to pioneer new technologies and ways of working that better inform decisions about a person’s health, by providing greater accessibility to clinical diagnostic services. We employ over 550 staff across four locations, 24 hours a day and process in excess of 15 million tests each year.Our mission is to be world leaders in research and innovation and we continually improve services for patients by investing in new insight and techniques. The work we do is clinically led and cutting edge, making us a regional reference centre for many specialist investigations. As part of LCL you’ll be encouraged to share your skills, whatever your area of expertise, to help drive the organisation to success.The Virology Laboratory provides an interesting and varied workload. It is a HCPC training approved and fully computerised department that provides a comprehensive diagnostic service, equipped with state of the art equipment including Hologic Panther, Liaison XL, Roche 8000, Cepheid Genexpert PCR system, Qiasymphony and Qiacube systems.We currently have a vacancy for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to undertake all aspects of routine laboratory work including supporting the GUM service; The post holder must hold HCPC registration and hold either the specialist diploma in Microbiology or be able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge through experience.All staff are encouraged to participate in CPD with access to relevant study days and seminars.
