Solicitor (Associate) 0-5 PQE, Clinical Negligence (medical product liability), Salary negotiable DOE + Excellent Benefits & Bonus Package and Career Progression OpportunityOur Client is an international law firm at the cutting edge of group consumer claims which represents thousands of clients across the globe.We are looking for an Associate to join the Medical Product Liability team. The team is headed up by a North West based Partner however the role is home-based with some travel to London required.Role & responsibilities • Work with the team on large, complex and fast paced contentious cases, including multi-jurisdictional disputes• Taking initial instructions from partners and senior associates and delegating to trainees and paralegal when appropriate• Conducting research, drafting and reviewing of documentation• Managing meetings effectively by setting clear agendas• Assist the firm in achieving its professional objectives• Develop and maintain relationships with external counsel, expert witnesses, financial partners and other external parties• Supervise trainees and paralegals• Manage legal documentation and demonstrate effective case management• Contribute to business development strategies, including contributing to the firm’s publicationsPerson specification:Essential• An excellent academic record (minimum 2.1 equivalent degree) and preferably commendations and distinctions in GDL/LPC/BPTC• NQ- 5PQE or equivalent with the majority of experience gained in an English litigation practice• Strong technical skills with experience in Clinical negligence litigation• Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand the clients’ needs and an ability to adopt the best-case strategy• Excellent knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules• Great attention to detail and accuracy to produce work which is consistently of a high standard• Very strong organisational skills, file management and time/record keeping• Confident communicator able to work calmly under pressure• Strong interpersonal skills demonstrated by previous collaborative work with external and internal parties• Demonstrate flexible approach to work to ensure client deadlines are met and clients are communicated with efficiently• Have empathy and passion for the clients Desirable• Experience in bro-bono or medical product liability work Required skills
