Job Description

My client is looking to recruit an experienced Shipping Import Merchandiser to join their Shipping & Merchandise team working across multiple product ranges.You will be working alongside shipping team and across specific retail accounts. Primary role to be responsible for taking the products from initial concept right through to delivery. The main purpose being to deliver the product at the right price and atthe right time, working closely with suppliers in the Far East and other internal departments.Key Responsibilities:Raise, manage, and track purchase orders and amend where necessary.Create and manage the Critical Path to ensure agreed delivery dates are maintained.Liaising with factories based overseas on a day-to-day basis, ensuring samples, artwork etc. are received according to CPResponsible for the timely delivery of all samples and submissions to customers.Advising and approving all labelling / packaging / testing information following customer manuals.Liaising with customers, responding promptly to communications to ensure all needs are met.Arrange Bulk Test Reports with Factories and vendors.Manage High Street accounts and build strong relationships with retail customers and suppliers.Managing the relationships between shipping forwarders and factoriesEnsuring correct freight charges used from start to finish.Liaising between clients and shipping companies to resolve any complaints or issues that may arise.Scheduling loads and processing shipping paperwork on Navision.Be responsible for managing the full import process whether this is for a DC shipment or specified accounts from start to finish.Accountable for correctly costing/ charging of consignments - (quote versus invoice received).Ensuring forwarder kept up to date with commodity codes issued from buyers so that their customs clearance process runs efficiently.Arrange booking in, monitor arrivals and provide data for warehouse and sales staff.Coordinating with warehouse staff to enable effective offloading schedule.Skills Required:Experience working in a similar position from an import merchandising/ co-ordinator or wholesale background is preference.A good understanding of import merchandising and managing critical path is essential.Experience of working with high street retailers is desirable.Competent user of Microsoft OfficeConscientious and self-motivated and must be able to work within a team and on own initiative, with minimal supervision.Looking for a candidate who is happy to roll up their sleeves’ and do what is required to achieve results.Excellent organisational, communication and negotiation skills as will be dealing with Far East factories daily.Salary £30k, Monday - Friday 8.30am-5pm, hybrid role - 1/2 from home (flexible), 3 days in office, 20 days holiday + bank holidays, pension, training & development, onsite parking
