Job Description

Our client has expanded their managed service provision to Endoscopy encompassing equipment, scopes, consumables, redesign of facilities and training to support an in demand and expanding clinical service with a wide of range of medical devices. An EquipmentManagement Professional is required for the delivery of their Managed Endoscopy Service contracts. This role assumes responsibility for the management of our clients service delivery for the relevant accounts.We expect you to have first class knowledge of medical equipment and considerable experience in applying technology to patient-critical equipment, including the specification, evaluation, commissioning, maintenance, and investigation of incidents. You shouldhave experience of developing services and in setting up and maintaining a quality system for medical equipment management.The candidate should have knowledge of Endoscopy and decontamination equipment and its use, along with the aptitude to further broaden their understanding to enhance our operational delivery.You should ideally have a post graduate degree or equivalent knowledge and experience and be professionally registered with an appropriate clinical body.The role:

  • Work professionally as a key member of our clients operational delivery team within the Managed Equipment Services division, and to communicate regularly and effectively with all other team members
  • Deliver operational excellence at the sites by meeting and exceeding operational contractual obligations
  • Work closely with the Head of Managed Equipment Services regarding all aspects of service delivery and performance management
  • Responsible for the performance of all maintenance & service-related operational obligations at the appropriate sites
  • Lead operational service reviews with the client and prepare/present any necessary reports
  • Responsible for the production of performance reports to the high standards required and in line with contractual service level agreements
  • Responsible for review and updating of existing procedures and developing a more robust system for all aspects of Managed Endoscopy Services
  • Responsible for audit of clinical and decontamination equipment, database content and keeping records up to date
  • Communicate issues and escalations in a timely and effective manner, to all stakeholders, ensuring appropriate escalation occurs
  • Lead role in liaison with MHRA, CQC, NHS LA and other regulators and implement procedures to comply as required for Managed Endoscopy Services
  • Liaise with the Head of Managed Equipment Services over budget management for the account, making recommendations to achieving efficiency and working with the commercial & procurement division and other colleagues to optimise purchasing efficiency, in accordancewith divisional strategies
  • Provide first line support on operational and incident issues
  • Attend and provide input to Trust/ Leadership committee meetings
The person:
  • Essential - Registered Clinical Scientist/Technologist
  • Essential - HNC/D or Professional qualification in relevant subject
  • Computer literate (Windows) to include Microsoft Office
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Networking and IT skills
  • Excellent influencing and negotiation skills
  • Detailed up-to-date knowledge of managing a wide range of medical equipment, including technical understanding
  • Management & Leadership trained
  • Worked with and influenced senior NHS clinical staff
  • Specification of medical equipment
  • MHRA Managed Medical Devices
  • Contract management skills
  • People management skills: persuasion, negotiation, and appropriate authoritative influence
  • Medical engineering contract management
  • Knowledge of Endoscopy equipment, decontamination, and regulatory guidance
  • Expertise in at least one equipment modality
  • Worked in NHS/Private Healthcare for >5 years
