Job Description

We have an exciting new role come in for a Network Analyst to work for Merseyside Police at their headquarters in Rose Hill Liverpool.This is a temporary role until February 2024 working 36.5 hours a week.PLEASE NOTE DUE TO POLICE VETTING CRITERIA YOU MUST HAVE RESIDED WITHIN THE UK CONTINUOUSLY AT THE TIME OF APPLICATION FOR A MINIMUM OF 5 YEARS.OverviewMerseyside Police is a dynamic, challenging, rewarding place to work: we take pride in everything we do.The best performing urban Force as graded by HMICFRS to date, our strategy is simply to put the communities of Merseyside first. Youll be based in our newly opened state-of-the-art Headquarters with onsite facilities such asa modern gym, a well-being room, a multi-faith room, coffee shop & restaurant, along with agile meeting and breakout areas - all equipped with video conferencing facilities.The role will be split between home working and attendance at locations across Merseyside, this will vary based on demand but will roughly equate to a 50 / 50 split. You must hold a full driving licence.Job Purpose: As a Network Analyst, you will contribute to the design, configuration, and maintenance of the Merseyside Polices network infrastructure. You will work in a team of network professionals to ensure the smooth operation of the network and address any technicalissues that arise and implement updates and changes to the network.Knowledge, Skills & Experience: EssentialEducated to CCNP level, or relative professional qualifications in the network and security industry.Proven experience as a Network Engineer or similar role, demonstrating expertise in designing, implementing, managing, and migrating enterprise-level networks.Thorough understanding of OSI Model, applying the model to multiple environments and using as theory for troubleshooting network, infrastructure, and application issues.Strong knowledge of network protocols such as TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, HSRP, VRRP, VLANs, IPSEC and how these can be used across Perimeter, Data Centre and Campus networks.Experience with network security technologies, such as Firewalls, VPNs, IPS, Web Filtering and Network Access Control.Familiarity with cloud networking, network virtualisation, software-defined networking, secure access service edge.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work well under pressure.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, offering help and advice to colleagues of all levels to work as one team.Knowledge of Incident Management, Availability and Capacity Management, Service Introduction, Change Management and Service Level Management in line with ITILv4.DesirableWorking knowledge of the following vendors, their technologies and software: HPE, Fortinet, Checkpoint, Cisco (ASA, FirePower), Aruba Wireless, Statseeker.Understanding secure network deployments in cloud environments (Azure, Oracle Cloud), including hybrid network architecture.Implementing Voice over IP solutions (Skype for Business, Teams).Adecco acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and an employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
