The Radiopharmacy Service we provide is high quality, comprehensive, forward thinking and expanding all the time. We provide our service to several Trusts within the region and work very closely with their nuclear medicine departments.Anyone looking to play a vital part in the clinical care of patients and becoming an integral part of a highly specialised technical team then look no further.We are looking for an enthusiastic, committed individual with the desire and ability to be trained to carry out technical tasks to a high standard. This will require concentration and carefully following approved procedures. Team work and the flexibility to shift focus with the changing demands of the service is important too! The successful post holder will work alongside technologists, and pharmacists in preparing the clean rooms and equipment for use, ordering and assembling medicines and starting materials in order to manufacture and prepare individual patient doses of radioactive medicines used in the diagnosis (scans) and treatment of a wide range of illnesses. You will have the opportunity to be involved in some of the leading developments in the field!The post will primarily be working in cleanrooms. Some experience of preparing medicines in a clinical area, pharmacy or radiopharmacy aseptic unit would be advantageous but all training will be provided.You will also support the radiation protection supervisor and quality assurance pharmacists in monitoring the environment and disposal of radioactive medicines.
