Job Description

Senior Information Analyst Location: Huyton, Liverpool,Working from Home and hybrid model. The team are currently going through a relocation, so when required, the candidate will have to travel to a site in Huyton, Liverpool.Job Type: TemporaryDuration of booking: Expected to last up to 3 months with possible extensionProposed start date: ASAPSector: HealthcareBase: Hospital Band: 6Pay Rates:£16.00-£19.30 PAYE per hour£17.00-£20.30 paye inclusive of holiday pay per hour£18.00-£21.30 umbrella per hourAll of the rates are depending on skill and experienceWorking Days and Hours: Monday to Friday, 9.00am - 17.00pmWorking from Home and hybrid model. The team are currently going through a relocation, so when required, the candidate will have to travel to a site in Huyton, Liverpool.Supporting the performance team with reporting from a new Community clinical system. There may also be a requirement to support in other areas such as SQL and Power BI.Job Summary:The Integrated Intelligence and Improvement Service specialises in statutory reporting, analysis, business intelligence, performance monitoring and service improvement. Due to promotion, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Senior InformationAnalyst to join our clients dynamic team.This position is well suited to an individual that is looking to advance their career in analysis and gain hands on experience in a thriving and supportive workplace. It offers exciting opportunities for both personal and professional development, to learnand develop across a breadth of different teams.The postholder will be responsible for developing and delivering reporting for all our community services-including an Urgent Treatment Centre- using bespoke software and in the form of dashboards via Microsoft PowerBi or Excel. Providing analysis for yourkey work areas within NHS statutory timetables. Key to meeting these challenges, is database interrogation, using SQL, as well as the ability to scope, produce and present these analyses to key stakeholders, senior managers, and clinicians.The candidate will be educated to degree level, in a subject with mathematical content or equivalent qualification and/or equivalent experience. The candidate will also possess strong analytical skills and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Knowledge of health-related data is advantageous, but not essential.Duties

  • To provide analysis, modelling and interpretation.
  • To communicate the conclusions drawn from complex analysis undertaken and to offer advice on the implications of the results.
  • To provide business and operational information and performance monitoring reports which will meet the requirements of the Trust, the CCG, ICS and St Helens Cares.
  • To assist the lead analyst to provide expert advice to help managers interpret and analyse data.
  • To ensure high quality and accuracy of all analyses and report presentation.
  • Manage data using SQL and develop complex reports in Power BI.
  • To contribute to the scheduled production of activity analysis and information for inclusion within Board reports, developing the content and format in response to changing organisational requirements.
  • To provide performance management information showing achievements against the NHS Operating Framework
  • To ensure that all statutory activity data are collected, collated, validated, quality assured and submitted to NSHE/I that the data is accurate, signed off by a Senior Manager and submitted within agreed timetables.
  • To assist the lead analyst to provide expert advice and support on data availability, data definitions and data validity.
  • To work with other information staff to monitor data quality and identify areas that require improvement; to escalate data quality issues as appropriate to the Data Quality team and contribute to improving data quality as required.
  • To undertake complex ad hoc requests and validate other ad hoc requests undertaken by other staff.
  • To proactively support information provision to address the evolving information needs arising from new agenda such as clinical governance; NSFs; Health Commission; Star Ratings/Annual Health Check etc.
  • To advise, as appropriate, on changes to national data sets or definitions and recording of patient information to communicate such changes to senior staff, so that appropriate action can be taken.
  • To ensure data is available to meet clinical governance requirements.
  • Ensure confidentiality of patient data at all times, by awareness and compliance with existing legislation and good practice, for example Data Protection Act 1998; Caldicott principles and recommendations; local policies and procedures
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
  • Planning, organising workload to meet deadlines
  • Practical experience of managing or co-ordinating a project
  • Communicating complex information to a range of audiences, both verbally and electronically
  • Provide analysis to influence decision making
  • Experience in data analysis, report writing and dashboard design
  • Data protection legislation; Caldicott and other information governance guidelines
  • Advanced MS Excel skills including data analysis, formulas, and pivot tables
  • Problem solving; analytical techniques and interpretation of data
  • Ability to work under pressure and produce high quality, accurate work to tight deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal team working skills
  • Knowledge and use of Performance Indicators
  • Advanced working knowledge of SQL for querying databases and extracting data
