Job Description

As a Senior Accountant you will be reporting into the Finance Manager assisting with production of reports, setting Budgets and liaising with Budget holders on a regular basis, Forecasting, providing financial advise and much more.Client DetailsOur client are a Local authority non profit organisation based in Liverpool city centre, as a senior accountant you will play a senior vital role within the growing and successful Accountancy finance team. our client offer great benefits , working patterns and flexible working, their offices are very modern and are in a great location within the City.DescriptionKey duties for the Senior Accountant are;

  • Prepare and maintain revenue and capital budgets in accordance with corporate standards and timescales;
  • To liaise with budget holders on an on-going basis on all financial matters;
  • Produce and present financial management information, budget monitoring and other reports as requested which are accurate, timely and appropriate for the audience;
  • To assist in the production of formal reports by supporting the provision of financial advice as necessary;
  • To undertake regular budget monitoring meetings with budget holders;
  • To promote and support financial awareness and budget management training of budget holders to ensure they are equipped to deliver their budgetary responsibilities;
  • To ensure maintain the integrity of specific service area financial information within the ledger;
  • To provide technical advice, guidance, briefings and training as required;
  • To support the closure of the accounts in accordance with the published timetable;
  • Support the production of statutory returns as required;
  • To contribute to the development and implementation of financial systems and procedures as appropriate;
    • ProfileThe ideal Candidate will be;
  • Part or full CCAB/CIMA qualified
  • Able to commit to a 2 year fixed contract
  • ideally have business partnering experience
  • Budget setting is essential
  • Local authority is desirable
  • A proven track record of closing revenue and capital accounts
  • Ability to plan, prioritise and organise own work load and to work to tight deadlines.
