Job Description

Senior AccountantLiverpool£35 000 - £40 000 33 days holiday including bank holidays, Free parking, Career progression, Casual dress, Hybrid working after training, Perkbox rewards schemeWe are looking to speak with experienced Accountants to work for an accountancy practice client of ours based in Liverpool. Our client is a dynamic and fast-growing accountancy practice based in modern offices in South Liverpool who have an experienced,close-knit team of client managers who offer a fresh approach.They are a successful, modern and forward-looking company which fully embraces new cloud-based technologies to help simplify the accounting process. These tools are easily accessible to clients, keeping them fully informed with an accurate and up to daterecord of their financial circumstances.As an Accountant you will be either ACCA/ACA or CIMA qualified with 3 years experience in an Accounting Practice or AAT qualified with 5 years experience in an Accounting practice. You could very well be qualified by experience. Either way you will havesolid experience working in an Accounting practice.You will work with a close knit team of 10 people and possibly want to develop yourself into a Client Manager role.What you will be doing:

  • Supporting an experienced Client Manager in servicing a portfolio of clients. This involves taking responsibility and control of client outputs and requirements, including delegation of work and supervision of junior team members
  • Communicating with clients on day-to-day issues and providing excellent customer care in dealing with all clients
  • Preparation of financial deliverables for the Client Manager. These include Limited Company, Partnership and Sole Trader Financial Accounts, Management Accounts, Budgets & Cashflows, VAT Returns, Corporation Tax and Self-Assessment Tax Returns
  • Communicating with HMRC, Companies House and other relevant bodies in relation to client queries and issues
What we are looking for:
  • 3 or more years experience working in an Accountancy practice
  • ACCA/ACA/CIMA/AAT qualified or qualified by experience
  • Experience working with Xero and/or Quickbooks and/or Taxcalc
  • Experience running payrolls
