Job Description

Maternity Cover to start January 2022Salary of £25,000 - £39,000 (depending on experience)We are representing a small and friendly independent school that provides education to a maximum of 25 pupils. This school provides education to 25 pupils with multiple sensory impairments, physical and/or learning disabilities aged 11-19.The school is graded as Outstanding by Ofsted and forms part of a strong, multiagency and therapeutic approach which provides education for pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties, challenging behaviours and other associatedlearning and attachment-based needs.The school is part of an independent provider of residential childrens care and specialist education with a well distributed portfolio of homes, schools and other services throughout England and Wales.What we are looking for:SENCO QualificationPrevious experience as a SENCOExperience of working in schools (preferably SEN)An understanding of SEN teaching strategiesAbility to lead on EHCP reviews, PEPSs and LAC ReviewsAbility to lead on a subject, preferably PSHEExperience managing challenging behaviours and working with children with SEMH difficultiesAbility to work collaboratively with teaching staff and other health professionalsStrong verbal, written and IT skills for detailed note taking and report writingAbility to liaise and network at a senior level both inside and outside the organisationPossession of a valid driving licence and access to a vehicle which can be used for work purposesWhat the school offer:Initial training and inductionProgressive development via qualificationsExcellent working conditionsA supportive environmentEmployee benefit schemeEnrolment into the NEST Pension SchemeEnhanced DBS check paid forInterviews are being held immediately over Microsoft Teams and all posts are subject to enhanced vetting checks, including DBS and reference checks.
