Job Description

Job Title: School CaretakerLocation: South Liverpool, MerseysideAbout the Role:We are seeking a dedicated School Caretaker for our South Liverpool secondary school. As a key member of our team, your role will include:

  • Ensuring the safety, security, and cleanliness of school premises.
  • Opening and closing gates and buildings, responding to alarms.
  • Overseeing overall security and emergency call-outs.
  • Conducting routine checks, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Managing waste disposal and grounds maintenance.
  • Preparing for events and assisting with setups.
  • Handling cleaning emergencies and daily upkeep.
  • Ensuring safety in various weather conditions.
  • Adhering to Health & Safety regulations.
Qualifications and Qualities:
  • An enhanced DBS or be willing to undertake a new one.
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE or equivalent).
  • Health and Safety qualification (desirable).
  • First Aid qualification (desirable).
  • Previous caretaking or premises management experience.
  • DIY skills and independence in general repairs.
  • Physical capability for lifting and carrying.
  • Effective communication and teamwork.
  • Commitment to safety and our schools values.
