Job Description

The clientMorgan Hunt are working with a Housing provider whose mission is to transform the lives of vulnerable people. They do this through support and outreach that is tailored to the needs of the individual, with the aim of turning their lives around and living independently.We are recruiting for a Residential Support Worker to work on a new Trainer Flat project which is opening in May. Shifts are sorted on a rota basis of 2 on 4 off, 24 hour shifts 10am-10am with a sleep 12-8The role - Residential Support Worker

  • Working with individuals with complex needs to deliver personalised support plans tailored to their needs
  • Delivering ASDAN independent living programme to individuals in either a residential setting / outreach in the community
  • Conducting welcome and induction for new service users
  • Completing ongoing assessments of individual needs
  • Assisting service users to access education, training and / or employment opportunities
  • Preparing reports and liaising with external agencies and professionals such as Social Workers
  • Maintaining the general upkeep of the property
  • Assisting with the move on of service users when required
The candidate
  • Experience of working with vulnerable client groups including care leavers, young people, those with poor mental health, those who are experiencing homelessness, substance misuse or those fleeing domestic violence
  • Experience of working in a similar role such as a Support Worker / Project Worker / Housing Support Worker or Residential Support Worker
  • Experience of working within a residential setting working 24 hour shifts
  • Experience of supporting individuals towards independent living
  • Experience of multi - agency working, signposting and referring to specialist organisations
  • The ability to use your initiative and confidence in lone working with complex client groups
  • Knowledge of preparing incident reports and having the confidence to respond to challenging behaviours
