Job Description

Release Analyst.Role Overview Job purpose To support the release teams service delivery operations to a number of cloud hosted solutions, collating and updating reports, raising and coordinating change requests and deployment activities. There will be an opportunity to become involved in the developmentof automated processes as part of the role. Experience of working within an ITIL framework is a preference. Key Responsibilities

  • Analysing and reporting release processes.
  • Ensure full testing has been carried out on planned releases and run test batches and refreshes.
  • Track and coordinate release schedules amongst work streams.
  • Document environments and underlying components.
  • Incident support for the UAT environments, and 3rd party suppliers.
  • Work closely with the other teams to facilitate a CI/CD approach to release automation.
  • Work with internal development teams to resolve environment related incidents.
  • Recommend solutions to issues that impact the work of others.
  • Keep informed of new technologies/ techniques in the environment management realm and promote improvements to our processes.
  • Support the release teams monitoring of non-prod environments.
  • Cover the hours of 8am-6pm with additional hours required for release implementation both evenings and weekends.
Key Skills and Experience
  • An understanding of Microsoft based solutions as well as Cloud-based solutions (DaaS, IaaS, and PaaS).
  • Working knowledge of SDLC.
  • Knowledge of Azure environments and release management.
  • Experience of version control such as GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket.
  • Excellent organisational and personal skills to work with people with varying levels of responsibility.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience of Azure DevOps or DevOps practices would be an advantage.
Professional Qualifications and Education
  • Experience with ITIL Processes, ITIL Foundation certificate (preferred)
  • Industry recognised testing qualification (ISTQB or equivalent)
