Regional Fleet EngineerDue to expansion, we are looking to recruit a Skilled Engineer to join us and help manage the Vehicle fleet effectively ensuring compliance both legally and to company guidelines. You will join a dedicated and enthusiastic team, where the work is varied whilst ensuring we add value to our ever-demanding business activity.Based from home, and reporting to the Fleet and Asset Director, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with both customers and suppliers to support them in achieving and maintaining full vehicle roadworthiness.The ideal candidate will have proven skills to identify clear opportunities for improvement where necessary. Ideally with a background in specialist vehicles you will have experience in a Fleet Engineering role and be proficient in managing external maintenance suppliers.Applicants must have excellent communication skills and feel comfortable debating technical detail with senior managers both internally and in customer businesses. You must have the ability to produce detailed and thorough investigation reports.Specialist vehicle training will be offered to the successful candidate.Regional Fleet Engineer Responsibilities:• Travelling throughout the North West Region visiting Dealers and repairers to carry out audits and assess repairs and authorise as required.• Assist the Fleet Department in the management of the P and L with fleet maintenance and add value to the business activity enabling vigorous cost control.• Support the region in achieving and maintaining full Vehicle compliance with fleet management data record systems and processes.• Minimise the whole life cost of operating assets and increase asset availability.• Active engagement with the operating businesses, including fleet driven improvement initiatives and business development.• Engage with internal colleagues within any necessary department to ensure fleet objectives are delivered.• Visit workshops and customers on a regular basis to provide a reliable service through strong relationship management.• Attend client meetings as required to provide specialist advice on vehicle maintenance.• Support the fleet department on vehicle problems, damage disputes and make recommendations on specific new vehicle requirements.• Support any new bid processes in relation to business development.Regional Fleet Engineer Requirements:• You will hold an Engineering qualification – minimum City and Guilds part 1-3 or similar.• Confident and proficient in IT skills including Microsoft Office.• Knowledge of specialist vehicles and overall mechanical engineering.• Highly driven with proven skills in managing external maintenance suppliers and costs.• CPC Holder (desirable) and/or experience in operating licence/legislation requirements.• Excellent management capabilities with a flexible attitude to fast changing circumstances.• Multitasker and team player.• Excellent communicator with proven negotiating skills.• Ability to influence to get the right results.• Report writing skills.• A member of SOE/IRTE and IRTEC licence holder would be useful.About Riverside Truck Rental:Riverside Truck Rental has built an excellent reputation for providing quality fleet services since its formation in 1996.
