Job Description

QA SpecialistCompetitive salary plus Bonus plus excellent benefits including discounted Gym memberships and Private Medical insuranceHybrid role - 50% on site, 50% working from homePermanentBased in LiverpoolA major multinational blue chip Food manufacturing business who specialise in Medical Nutrition are looking for a QA Specialist to join their team on a permanent basis. The site in Liverpool is their centre of excellence for all R&D and New Product Developmentand as well as manufacturing on site they also work with 3rd party manufacturers to help drive the business forward.Due to training on offer candidates from either a Food / FMCG background or Pharmaceutical background will be considered. Experience in non-conformances, customer complaints, GMP audits are common across both industries and HACCP and Food Safety can be trainedwhere needed however any experience in both would be advantageous.Duties:

  • Contribute to developing the competency of quality professionals
  • Promote quality awareness and commitment to quality across the unit
  • Set operational objectives in collaboration with the Quality Manager
  • Define and update specific quality procedures, instructions and tools in the area of technical expertise
  • Contribute to, define and follow-up on quality Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • HACCP team leader for the companys on-site production facility
  • Support the companys Continuous Excellence program in the quest for zero defect
  • Support activities to achieve compliance with the Quality Management System
  • Continuously increasing first-time right quality related to co-manufacturers
  • Lead the Halal & Kosher compliance project
  • Participate/lead the audits of the companys 3rd party manufacturers
  • Support unit readiness for internal and external audits
  • Perform and coordinate GMP audits
  • Performs trouble shooting and corrective action follow-up of non-conformities
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent) in Food and Nutrition, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Microbiology or other related degree discipline. Candidates with relevant experience but without a Degree will also be considered.
  • Internal auditor qualified, lead auditor would be desirable
  • HACCP and Food Safety Level 3
  • Experience in successfully implementing quality assurance programmes
  • Experience of complaint reduction projects, non-conformance management and root cause analysis
  • Broad understanding of different manufacturing technologies e.g. dry powder blending, can / sachet filling, aseptic liquid, infant requirements, zoning.
  • Can motivate, support and develop team members to achieve goals
  • Good problem solving and decision-making skills
  • A keen eye for detail with the ability to spot areas for improvement
  • Ability to establish working relationships successfully with departments, markets and factories
  • Results driven
  • Proficient in IT (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Databases)
  • Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills
