Policy and Strategy AdvisorDo you want to make a real difference to the lives of people Do you want to work for an organisation that has been providing affordable housing across the UK for over 90 years, as well as caring for the elderly and supporting those who face homelessnessWe’re have an exciting opportunity for a Policy and Strategy Advisor to play a crucial role in helping transform lives and revitalise neighbourhoods.Position: Policy and Strategy AdvisorLocation: Liverpool, Carlisle or LeicesterHours: 35 hours per weekSalary: £37,840.98 per annumContract: Fixed term until September 2022Benefits: 25 days’ holiday per year (plus bank holidays), Riverside Rewards scheme and app, providing valuable access to voluntary discounted benefits including high street and online savings, Opt-in to our auto-enrolment pension scheme (employee rate 3% and employer rate 5%) or our enhanced pension scheme (employee rate 6% and employer rate 9%), Tax-free bikes and car loan scheme, Eye tests, glasses and lenses, Employee Assistance Programme.Closing Date: 16th June 2021The difference you’ll makeAs a trusted member of the team, the Policy and Strategy Advisor will ensure the Group has an appropriate suite of group-wide policies, and provide high quality intelligence to colleagues, Board members and external stakeholders to support strategic decision making.You will maintain the Group’s internal policy framework, ensuring all policies are current and comply with agreed internal standards, as well as overseeing the delivery of policies and strategies.Regular tasks include:

  • Developing and writing policies
  • Regularly reviewing the Group’s external operating environment and disseminating appropriate intelligence to colleagues and board members
  • Supporting the Group’s Public Affairs Advisor in ensuring external stakeholders understand the Group’s perspective on key housing and regeneration policy issues
    • So, who are youAs Policy and Strategy Advisor, you will have a proven track record of policy and strategy development in a housing association or comparable organisation.You will:
  • Have a good understanding of how government and public policy impact on housing associations.
  • Be able to utilise your excellent communication skills to simplify and present complex strategic information.
  • have excellent attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure, delivering to strict deadlines.
    • Experience in a strategy or policy role would be an advantage, preferably in the housing sector.
