Job Description

Public Sector Organisation requires a Payroll Team Leader for a 12 month contract based in St HelensThe Payroll Team Leader will be accountable to the Client Relationship Manager and responsible for providing a professional end to end operational Payroll service to the clients of the Payroll ServicesSpecific duties include:

  • Accountable to the Client Relationship Manager and responsible for providing a professional end to end operational Payroll service to the clients of the Payroll Services.
  • Ensure that the payroll is processed on a weekly and monthly basis within agreed deadlines and that all information from interfacing software systems has been uploaded and processed in order to produce accurate and prompt salary payments to all staff in accordance with all statutory, regulatory and policy requirements.
  • Analysing, investigating and resolving complex queries and discrepancies, including the close management of over payments and underpayments.
  • Liaise and communicate with managers and staff at all levels and provide advice on complex queries.
  • Production of client KPIs reports for the Customer Relationship Manager
  • The ideal candidate will have the following experience:
  • 3 years experience of the full PAYE process
  • Manual and computerised calculations of the payroll cycle
  • Intermediate excel skills i.e. must be able to perform pivot tables and v.look ups
  • Experience of processing in-house payroll in a large volume environment
