Job Description

Operator Asset Care Technician role will include assisting in plant operations and standards that contribute towards improving manufacturing efficiencies & Reliability by utilising lean techniques, continuous improvement techniques, standard operating proceduresand developing operator asset care program.Client DetailsThe client is a global operation supplying materials into food manufacturers.They prioritise innovation and quality to ensure the success of their customers.The Operator Asset Care Technician will be based in Liverpool.DescriptionResponsibilities and Duties:

  1. Support the full implementation of the site, operator asset care program (TPM)
  2. Maintain Operator asset care program
  3. Develop & Implement operator-led engineering inspections and audit to ensure compliance.
  4. Identifying, leading, and deploying the best practices and ensuring consistency across the unit operation.
  5. Working towards achieving world class manufacturing goals and objectives of the organisation leading to a demonstrated increase in OEE
  6. Develop methods to increase reliability, efficiency, safety & quality
  7. Assist in determining the root cause of system inefficiencies and driving actions to completion to agreed timescales
  8. Communicate between Engineering & Production to agree standards & guides
  9. Collect and analyse data to help improve efficiency and reliability, produce KPI reports of progress and drive increase in metrics
  10. Involved in preparing the documentation for improved processes and standard operating procedures, ensuring that the product designs manufactured are up to standard levels. Train out and validate SOPs.
  11. Continuously use expertise to identify and recommend improvements.
  12. Support and engage in hands on project activities to ensure effective implementation of continuous improvement practices.
  13. Implementing & maintaining 5S standards
ProfileSkills and Abilities:
  • Ability to lead, coach and teach

  • Be up to date with latest developments in the field

  • Ability to develop standard operating procedures
  • Self-driven
  • Identify and resolve problems quickly using fault finding tools - 5Y/RCA approach
  • Good communication skills
  • Strong PC and presentation skills
Preferable qualifications (though training will be giving the successful applicant)
  • Minimum BTEC/NVQ III in appropriate subject
  • Recognised qualification on Lean, TPM or Six sigma
Preferable Experience:
  • Experience of working in an FMCG environment, working with cross functional teams including use and implementation of Lean/Six sigma tools, 5Y, 5S, Value stream mapping, Kaizen. Experience of leading or supporting cultural change and communication improvements.
  • Development & implementation of standard operating procedures & manufacturing best practices
  • Electrical or Mechanical engineering experience preferred.
