Job Description

Working within the network team to maintain customer focused provision of network services using the latest networking technologies.This role will suit individuals currently working as a Cisco network engineer or similar role using the latest hardware and software such as Cisco ISE, DNA, Wireless and 9300 range of switches.Client DetailsOur client is a leading education institution based in Liverpool.DescriptionThe successful Network Analyst will liaise closely with the Service Desk to ensure that all network related requests and incidents are progressed, through call tracking, communication, and escalation where appropriate. The incumbent will use their knowledgeof IT network systems (LAN, WAN, wireless, and Remote Access technologies) to troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely manner or re-direct to the appropriate team as required within agreed response times.Working to recognised Project Management standards, you will be assisting the Network Services Manager to design and implement network projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget. Technical decision making and documenting designs / solutionsto a high standard is also necessary.Duties:

  • Day to day management of the network
  • Project work with other university teams
  • Installation and configuration of network switches
  • Troubleshooting of wired and wireless network problems
  • Working with other teams and departments as and when required
  • Network related project implementation working with 3rd party suppliers
  • Implementation and management of NAC including posture of devices
  • Occasional out of hours work as and when the business needs
  • Undertake other duties commensurate with the grade as required.
ProfileThe successful Network Analyst be competent in LAN, WAN and Wireless to Cisco CCNP standard and have good knowledge in the following: -
  • Wireless network design and support using Cisco Prime and Ekahau.
  • Switching and routing technologies and protocols (OSPF and BGP)
  • Cisco and Juniper products
  • Cisco Firepower firewalls or enterprise firewall solutions
  • DHCP and DNS
  • Network monitoring & security solutions such as Solarwinds, Cisco DNA and Cisco ISE.
  • Cisco QOS
  • Fibre and UTP cable
Other key attributes include:
  • Excellent networking knowledge including: the latest network technologies, switch, and router configurations, QoS, network planning, data cabling and WAN knowledge.
  • Experience in designing and maintaining a large, high speed data network.
  • Experience in designing and maintaining a wireless network.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with diverse range of individuals including written reports.
The successful candidate must also live within commutable distance to Liverpool and be willing to attend the office 3 days per week.Job OfferSalary: £38,000 to £44,000 dependent on experience.Additional benefits include: Excellent pension scheme, 35 hour work week, market leading holiday allocation.
