CK Group are recruiting for a Microbiologist to join a manufacturing company in the chemicals and hygiene industry at their site based near Liverpool on a full time, permanent basis.Reporting to the Technical Manager, the successful Microbiologist will perform microbiological quality control of raw materials to ensure product conformity, stability and product safety. In addition the role will also involve chemical QC of other raw materials and finished products used in other parts of the business. The company offers a salary in the region of £20-25,000pa depending on experience.Microbiologist Role:Your main duties will be to:- Comply with the requisite microbiological operating standards and procedures established on site- Establish systems, for taking action when necessary to achieve planned results and for continual improvement- Observe, monitor and identify microorganisms- Provide cover to the analytical laboratory, deputising for the Lab Technician when required- Test intermediate bulk manufactured products and incoming raw materials- Calibrate equipment as detailed in the calibration schedule- Carry out miscellaneous duties including raw material sampling, sample preparation and clerical dutiesYour Background:The ideal candidate for this role will have the following skills and experience:- HND or equivalent in microbioIogy- Industrial laboratory experience of working as a microbiologist - the individual must possess a sound technical understanding of microbiology and its application to industrial processes, operating standards and products- Familiar with GMP, BRCand ISO9001 beneficial- Internal auditing skills beneficial advantageous- A knowledge of analytical chemistry such as HPLC would be a benefitFor more information or to apply for this Microbiology Technician position, please contact Victoria Walker on or email , quoting job reference 49255.It is essential that applicants hold entitlement to work in the UK.
