Job Description

Applicants are invited to apply for the above vacancy within the Biomass Operations Department, based at the Port of Liverpool.Role Purpose: The key objective of this role is the operation of the company’s plant and equipment in an efficient and safe manner. This is a multi-functional role with duties dependent upon experience and training.This role will include the following responsibilities:

  • Safe and effective operation of Peel Ports Plant and Equipment
  • Operating the Ports rail intake facility and Rail Outloading facility
  • Carrying out cleaning duties to ensure company machinery and working areas are kept clean and in line with Peel Ports’ H&S standards
  • Accountable for following the company’s operations procedures meeting targets where required
  • Inspection of Peel Ports Plant and equipment, recording condition and damage
  • Loading and unloading wagons, trains and driving ship unloaders
  • Working in a physically demanding environment, including manual handling, working at height and dusty environments
  • Conduct all duties associated to this role in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring compliance with all Peel Ports Health & Safety standards
    • Applicants interested in this role should ideally possess the following skills and experience:
  • Experience working within an industrial environment
  • Previous bulk operations experience
  • Experience of driving wheel loaders, skidsteers and operating continuous ship unloaders, experience driving mobile harbor cranes would be beneficial
  • Commitment to maintaining Health and Safety standards, as well as demonstrating compliance to safety policies and procedures
  • A positive and flexible approach to working hours including nights and weekends
  • A full valid Driving Licence
