Job Description

Job PurposeLead the development and implementation of specific brand strategies and NPD projects for a well-known FMCG brand undergoing recent transformation. Support the Senior Marketing Manager in the strategic development and delivery of business and brand targets for the SBA with a total brand marketing budget of ~£4 million/ annum, as well as development of junior personnel.Dimensions

  • Lead, develop and the implement the annual and strategic long term brand and NPD pipeline based on consumer and market insights.
  • Develop and evaluate the agreed projects to deliver the brands? goals and targets
  • Lead cross functional internal and external teams in the delivery of projects e.g. NPD/EPD, Quality KPI?s.
  • Monitor brand and competitive trade, consumer and promotion activity and address implications.
  • Lead the implement brand claims, policies and guidelines, and effective communication of these for the relevant areas of responsibility.
  • Mentor and develop junior personal, and line management.
  • Principal Responsibilities
  • Lead the branded NPD and product/packaging development pipeline for a specific sector, including concept generation, consumer research and validation, commercial viability, launch strategy. Leadership of cross functional team from development to launch.
  • On-going refinement, management of brand marketing plans across the 4 P?s to deliver business and brand targets and ensure the brand remains relevant to our customers and consumers.
  • Development of the overall fish brand communication plan for product launches and innovation, including overall trade and customer plans.Create and present brand plans and product launches pre sells to relevant internal and external stakeholders such as retail buyersWork with the Senior Marketing Manager to recommend pricing and promotional strategies for the portfolio area taking into consideration market conditions and business needs.Work with the insight team to deliver appropriate consumer and shopper insight to deliver brand growth and shape the NPD pipeline.Delivery of required internal reporting on market and business performance.Development and mentoring of team personnel, including line management if appropriate.Knowledge, Skills & ExperienceMarketing Functional and General Skills

  • Qualifications & Previous experience
  • Strong experience in Consumer Marketing in FMCG, ideally Food
  • Experience in developing and executing business and brand plans delivering growth and proven ROI.
  • Proven track record of successfully bringing innovation to market, leading cross functional teams and projects
  • Experience in instigating consumer insight, both qualitative and quantative (including Kantar/ IRI/ ad-hoc research techniques)
  • Good project and time management skills, with a track record of delivering a number of projects simultaneously.
  • Experience in P&L brand management non-essential, but preferred
  • Graduate calibre with business degree and ideally a marketing degree
