Job Description

Join one of the UKs leading food and drink brands based in Liverpool as a Marketing Manager and be part of a dynamic business that invests in their people.Client DetailsOne of the UKs leading food and drink brands based in Liverpool are recruiting for an experienced Marketing Manager to join there Marketing team.DescriptionJob PurposeLead the development and implementation of specific brand strategies and NPD projects for the Brand. Support the Senior Marketing Manager in the strategic development and delivery of business and brand targets for the SBA with a total brand marketingbudget of £4 million/ annum, as well as development of junior personnel.Dimensions

  • Lead, develop and the implement the annual and strategic long term brand and NPD pipeline based on consumer and market insights.
  • Develop, execute and evaluate the agreed projects to deliver the brands goals, objectives, and strategic targets
  • Support volume and profitability targets by monitoring brand and competitive trade, consumer and promotion activity and creating actions to address implications.
  • Lead cross functional internal and external teams in the delivery of projects e.g. NPD/EPD, Quality KPIs.
  • Mentor and develop junior personal, including line management responsibility.
  • Shared profit responsibility with buying department. Lead, develop and implement pricing and promotional strategy across retailers to deliver business KPIs e.g. Net Margin, Vol and Share.
Principal Responsibilities
  • Take an active role in delivering the business KPIs of turnover, volume and profitability targets and in the delivery of brand share targets.
  • Lead the branded innovation stream for specific sectors, including concept generation, consumer research and validation, commercial viability and launch strategy. Leadership of cross functional team from development to launch.
  • On-going refinement, management of brand marketing plans across the 4 Ps.
  • Development of the overall brand communication plan for product launches and innovation, including overall trade and customer plans.
  • Recommend and lead on-going product and packaging changes to agreed time and cost ensuring the brand remains relevant to our customers and consumers.
  • Create and present brand plans and product launches pre sells to relevant internal and external stakeholders such as retail buyers including NPD, pricing and promotions and communication plans.
  • Work with the Senior Marketing Manager to recommend pricing and promotional strategies for the portfolio area taking into consideration market conditions and business needs, including the impact on business KPIs and management of the national promotionalplans.
  • Work with the insight team to deliver appropriate consumer and shopper insight to deliver brand growth and shape the NPD pipeline.
  • Delivery of required internal reporting on market and business performance with recommendations for action where appropriate.

Qualifications & Previous Experience
  • Strong experience in Consumer Marketing in FMCG, ideally Food - min 3 years at a brand manager level
  • Experience in developing and executing business and brand plans delivering growth and proven ROI.
  • Proven track record of successfully bringing innovation to market, leading cross functional teams and projects
  • Experience in instigating consumer insight, both qualitative and quantitative (including Kantar/ IRI/ ad-hoc research techniques)
  • Good project and time management skills, with a track record of delivering a number of projects simultaneously.
  • A competent and confident communicator and motivator with experience in presenting to large audiences (external and internal)
  • Experience in evaluating and providing food development feedback
  • Experience in P&L brand management non-essential, but preferred
  • Graduate calibre with business degree and ideally a marketing degree
  • Competent of Microsoft packages and knowledgeable of Kantar/ IRI/ SAP
