Job Description

IT Technician Location: LiverpoolSalary: Starting salary is NJC Pt 11 (currently £24,054). The salary is open to negotiation (depending on experience) and there is some flexibility regarding contracted hours and working pattern.Job Type: Full Time, Permanent Our client is rated Outstanding (Ofsted, 2008) and heavily oversubscribed 11-19 mixed comprehensive academy with 1125 students (including over 225 in the Sixth Form). The schools mission statement "Determined to Achieve" is the central focus of all theirwork. The school employs over 140 dedicated and highly effective teaching and support staff who work closely with parents to achieve the best possible outcomes for their students.The RoleTo provide and assist the Network Manager in delivering a comprehensive support service for the Schools IT infrastructure, ensuring all elements of IT hardware, software, resources and approved 3rd - party & cloud services are well maintained, operationaland secured.Main Duties / Responsibilities Overview

  • To assist the Network Manager with the support of a Windows Server (2019), Windows (10) and Microsoft 365 based network; including the administration of accounts, policies, deployment (of images, printers, software, applications etc.) and associated services.
  • To liaise with the Network Manager and other departments to help create and deliver suitable (Microsoft 365 & IT-related) CPD training and resources for staff and pupils to use.
  • In conjunction with the Network Manager be responsible for the scheduling and undertaking of routine IT preventative & maintenance tasks and auditing.
  • To practice and ensure compliancy with all GDPR, child protection, cyber security and other relevant legislation standards and school policies.
  • To deputise for the Network Manager in relation to the administrative, technical and other associated IT matters (where applicable) either in their absence or where delegated.
  • To identify or log reported IT issues / requests and to prioritise accordingly (or escalate to the Network Manager) as appropriate.
  • To take a proactive approach, and to able to work independently.
Qualifications/Skills
  • A good standard of education (minimum a 5 GCSEs or equivalent)
  • Experience of working in an IT support environment
  • Experience and support of Windows Client & Server Based Infrastructure
  • Competency in a wide variety of software applications
  • Strong IT Technical background
  • Knowledge and support of Microsoft Server 2016/2019 / Hyper-V Based Network Infrastructure
  • Knowledge and support of MS Operating Systems (10+)
  • Knowledge and support of Microsoft 365 Services (e.g., Office 365, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive)
  • Excellent communication skills
