Job Description

A great opportunity for an experience IT Operations Manager has arisen to join a high performing IT Services team responsible for the strategic and operational delivery of hosting platforms, enterprise applications, and release management. The role will be responsible for spearheading the operational aspects of the Infrastructure team, focusing on databases, hosting, networking, and AD management.IT Operations Manager - Liverpool - up to £70KRole Overview:A great opportunity for an experience IT Operations Manager has arisen to join a high performing IT Services team responsible for the strategic and operational delivery of hosting platforms, enterprise applications, and release management. The organisationhave nationwide presence and the IT team ensures the seamless support for all office. The role will be responsible for spearheading the operational aspects of the Infrastructure team, focusing on databases, hosting, networking, and AD management.Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Technology Management Team to align roles and responsibilities with a focus on cultural change.
  • Support infrastructure projects and assist Enterprise & Infrastructure Architects in cost-efficient design decisions.
  • Oversee non-production environments availability and manage release deployments.
  • Take charge of infrastructure operations, including incident, problem, and change management across various domains.
  • Transition managed services support to outsourced providers.
  • Ensure timely patching of infrastructure services in compliance with Cyber Essentials & ISO27001 standards.
  • Drive adherence to infrastructure-related SLAs/SLOs/KPIs.
  • Contribute to service improvement roadmaps, aligning strategic partners and internal teams.
  • Develop Infrastructures self-service catalogue, emphasizing cloud automation and Infra-As-Code.
  • Cultivate a culture of operational excellence and ownership, engaging users and stakeholders for continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with the SRE team to enhance resilience and business continuity.
Key Skills and Experience:
  • Proven experience driving transformative cultural change within infrastructure engineering environments.
  • Management experience in both project and operational change, with a focus on resource allocation, status reporting, and cost management.
  • Line-management expertise, fostering professional development of cloud infrastructure engineers.
  • Technical proficiency in the Microsoft/Azure ecosystem and Infrastructure as Code (preferably Terraform).
  • Experience in hybrid structures and managing strategic service partners.
Professional Qualifications and Education:
  • Microsoft/Azure certifications (desirable)
  • ITIL in Service Management (desirable)
  • BSc in Computing or similar (desirable)
